I cannot say enough good things about Affordable Auto Repair. I have had horrible problems with my Ford Escape (70,000 miles) and Tony has been fantastic from "check engine" onward. First, he worked me in the day I brought my car to him, and when I continued to have problems (Ford factory issue), he was extremely thorough in diagnosing the root of the problem. When it turned out to be a very specific issue, he wasn't afraid to advise me to go to a dealer because the dealer might be able to get Ford to help with the repair since there was a related recall. He wasn't selfish in trying to keep the job for himself. When I told him that the dealer confirmed that I needed a new engine and that Ford was not going to help with the cost, he went right to work trying to find me the best possible solution that would be both affordable and reliable. He ended up doing the same job that the dealership was going to do but for less than their, "lowest possible offer". Even if it was more expensive though, I would have towed it back to him because he has been HONEST since the start. This car issue has been very frustrating, but fortunately, I have never had a better experience with a mechanic. If you need help with your car, go see Tony!

It is a law that independent automotive repair shops can maintain and service your warranty. All consumers are protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which is enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). It prohibits a manufacturer from voiding the new vehicle's warranty or a vehicle's extended warranty because service was performed by a Non-Dealer/Independent Repair shop.

Per the FTC, “It's illegal for a dealer to deny your warranty coverage simply because you had warranty work or routine maintenance or repairs performed by our automotive shop. Routine maintenance can include anything from oil changes, tire rotations and belt replacement, to fluid checks, flushes, new brake pads, and inspections.” It is also important to note that the “Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for a company to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty for the simple cause that you used an aftermarket or recycled part.”

One of the major perks of bringing your vehicle to an independent repair shop is the ability to make your money go further. Many times, warranties will have a limit or a deductible. Our goal is to make your warranty work for you.
